Intermediate Ballet

Students Age 9 anda up

Intermediate Ballet is designed for students ages 9 and up. Promotion into the Intermediate Class is based on ability rather than age; students must be performing at an adequate level in Ballet C in order to be accepted into this level. At the Intermediate level, pointe work is introduced. Classes consist of two hours of barre exercises, center technique, stretching, and pointe. Pointe is done in the last half hour of class. Students too young to be on pointe are encouraged to do the pointe segment of class in ballet shoes as a preparatory exercise. Students on point are required to take three times a week, or six hours. Students not on point may take only twice a week, or four hours, but are encouraged to take more.
